President

Alan Foy

Alan Foy (B.B.S., M.A.) is a graduate of business studies and former TBA Business Student of the Year (2004). Alan got actively involved with the alumni group directly after college. Alan is currently Chief Executive of Blueface, Ireland’s 21st Century Telephone Company, having previously worked with NCB Group in the wealth management area of the firm.

Alan really enjoys working with the TBA committee and is looking forward to seeing the alumni group grow from strength to strength over the coming years. He is also a district officer of Rotary International in Ireland and a member of the Social Entrepreneurs Ireland and supported advisory boards for Lucca Leadership and Bridge2College.

Grainne Moynihan

Grainne Moynihan graduated in 1997, with a BA in French and History and now works as an accountant for Diageo Ireland. She joined the TBA to gain a greater insight into Irish business and politics, through the medium of the alumni network. In her role on the TBA committee, Grainne liaises with the Corporate Partners ensuring they are actively involved in TBA activities and seeing the full value of their investment.

She lives in Dublin but spends much of her time hillwalking and horse-riding around the country. She and two friends recently completed 180km of the Camino de Santiago, rising daily at 5am to walk 30km before midday, to beat the Spanish heat!

Robert Smyth

Robert Smyth graduated in 2006 after studying Management Science and Information Systems Studies. Robert works as a Management Consultant with Accenture, having previously worked for Superquinn.

He joined the TBA to remain connected with the college, attend events with high profile speakers and to give something back to his alma mater. He is responsible for the new TBA website and communications. Robert lives in Dublin and enjoys using the Irish language whenever he has the opportunity to do so.

Tim Cody

Tim Cody is a partner in Accenture working in the Financial Services industry. A graduate of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering in 1992, he was recruited into Accenture’s graduate programme immediately after finishing in TCD.

Tim started the TBA business breakfast roundtable series and is heavily involved in planning the future growth and development of the organisation. Tim lives in Carrickmines, Co. Dublin. He enjoys golf and socialising with friends at weekends when the many demands of a young family allow.

 

Shane Cooke

Shane is an Executive in NCB Corporate Finance where his work is focused on advising clients on mergers, acquisitions, disposals, MBOs, public and private fundraisings and the provision of strategic advice across a variety of sectors. Shane graduated from Trinity with an MA in Business and Economics in 2006 and also holds a postgraduate diploma in law from D.I.T.

He is a sports enthusiast and played rugby for Trinity. Shane joined the TBA to meet and network with as wide array of graduates as possible but also to give a little back to Trinity in doing so.

 

Gareth Governey

Gareth joined HSBC in August 2011 from AIB Corporate Banking in London where he was a senior manager. During his six years in London he gained extensive experience in corporate lending, acquisition finance and debt restructuring.

Gareth has worked for over 10 years in the financial services sector having previously qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG in its Financial Services division. He holds a BA (Hons) Business and Economics from Trinity College Dublin.

 

Marie Louise Heavey

Marie Louise Heavey graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2006 after studying Business Economics and Social Studies. She is currently training to be a solicitor at Matheson Ormsby Prentice, specialising in the area of aircraft finance and is also the social representative at the Law Society of Ireland.

Marie Louise has been a committee member of the Trinity Business Alumni since 2007. In her spare time, she tries to keep healthy by running and in 2008 she successfully climbed Mount Elbrus in Russia (5,642 meters).

 

Dylan Latimer

Dylan graduated in 2002 after studying Economics and Political Science. During summer holidays at college, he worked in Boston, London and Sydney. He works as a solicitor with Mason Hayes & Curran and specialises in mergers and acquisitions, venture capital investments and corporate law.

Having attended many TBA events, Dylan joined the TBA committee to become involved in the organisation of TBA events and to help increase the TBA’s membership. Dylan is an enthusiastic runner and has a number of marathons and half-marathons under his belt.

Joanna O’Driscoll

Joanna O’Driscoll graduated from TCD in September 2006 with a degree in Computer Science, Linguistics in German, a degree in Computational Linguistics and a Higher Diploma in Statistics. Joanna spent many years lecturing in the German and engineering departments in Trinity while studying. After graduation, Joanna was then recruited into the Consultancy division of Accenture in May 2007 where she has been working since.

Joanna lives in Ballsbridge and spends much of her spare time cooking, watching sport, travelling and keeping fit. Joanna is a certified PMP Project Manager and a qualified TEFL teacher.

 

Tom Ponsonby

Tom Ponsonby is Managing Director of ExSite Communications Ltd – a digital design, management, and marketing company based on Baggot St. He graduated in 2005 after studying Business and Political Science and explored both sides of his degree working in Ireland, the USA, and the UK.

He joined the TBA to get to know past and future graduates who share his interest in building and maintaining a network to improve their roles in business, and what they can give back to Trinity. Actively involved in The Kildare Street and University Club, Lansdowne Lawn Tennis Club, and Fine Gael, he enjoys travelling, sport, music, history and politics.

 

Erica Roseingrave

Erica graduated from Trinity with a degree in Business Studies and Economics in 2000. Whilst at Trinity she was Deputy Editor of Trinity News and Student Union Welfare Officer. After graduating, Erica spent time at RTE  and later worked for TV3 a news reporter. Then in a case of poacher turned gamekeeper, she switched to CIE where she managed media relations for Bus Eireann. In 2008, Erica joined Coca-Cola Bottlers as Public Affairs and Communications Manager, where she now leads on PR and Stakeholder Engagement in the Republic of Ireland.

Having attended many TBA events, Erica took the plunge and joined the committee in 2009. Erica likes to spend free time in Kerry and loves watching Mad Men. She admits to being a fitness fanatic or a social butterfly, depending on the day of the week.

David O’Donnell

David is Head of the Corporate Department at Mason Hayes & Curran, one of Ireland’s leading business law firms. His work is mainly focused on Mergers and Acquisitions and Private Equity investment although he spends a lot of time with early stage and developing organisations. David has led many major M&A transactions in the last number of years including the Dragon Oil and Skillsoft deals.

In 2010, David was appointed President of the Trinity Business Alumni and is keen to further develop the organisation with the help of fellow graduates.  He also heavily involved with Castleknock College and Bective Rangers. David is a keen sportsman and played rugby at Trinity and continues to support the team.

Conor O’Kelly

Conor O’Kelly is currently the Group CEO of NCB Stockbrokers. He is a graduate in Business Studies from Trinity College Dublin and holds a Masters in Japanese Commercial Policy from Senshu University in Japan. He joined NCB in 1995 and held the position of Head of Fixed Income until his appointment as Chief Executive of NCB Group in 1999.

In 2003, he successfully negotiated and led a management buyout of the group from Ulster Bank/RBOS. Prior to joining NCB he held senior management positions in investment banking with BZW. He worked with BZW over an eleven-year period in London, Tokyo and New York. He is the former Chairman of the European Securities Network and is a director of the Irish Stock Exchange.

 

Shane Ross, T.D.

Shane Ross graduated in History and Political Science in 1971. After graduation Shane joined the TBA to meet as wide a circle of business graduates as possible, to enjoy a fantastic programme of events and to give back a little to TCD. Shane is a former President of the TBA, finishing his term in early 2008.

After an earlier career as a stockbroker he switched to full-time journalism. Today, Shane is the Business Editor of the Sunday Independent and an Independent T.D. for Dublin South. He won the prestigious Journalist of the Year Award 2009 and has published books on Ireland’s bankers and public sector expenditure.

Shane lives in Enniskerry with his wife Ruth Buchanan and their two children. He enjoys a daily swim, weekly tennis and the occasional game of poker.

 

Mark Ryan

Appointed Managing Director of Accenture in Ireland in 2005, Mark Ryan has spent his career with the company which he joined after graduating from Natural Science in Trinity College Dublin in 1982. Previous to being appointed MD, Mark spent time in the company’s US and UK offices, before heading Accenture’s Financial Services Operating Group in Ireland. During this time, Mark played a major role in securing some of Accenture’s most important and high profile public and private sector client contracts. In 2008, An Taoiseach, Brian Cowen T.D., nominated Mark Ryan to sit on the task force responsible for developing the action plan for implementing OECD recommendations following a review of the public service.

In 2009, Mark was appointed President of the Trinity College Business Alumni and also sits on the board of the National Concert Hall. He is also heavily involved with several local business representative organisations including Dublin Chamber of Commerce and IBEC (Irish Business and Employers Federation). Mark is a keen sportsman and secured six Rugby caps for Leinster from 1985 to 1987 and he also captained Lansdowne FC in their back-to-back League and Cup double triumphs in 1985 and 1986.
