Women in Business Conference
Hosted by the Trinity Student Managed Fund (Trinity SMF)
In association with Trinity Business Alumni
On the 2nd November, from 5.30 to 8pm, Trinity College Dublin hosted the first student-run female leadership conference in the historic Trinity Dining Hall. The aim was to promote and demonstrate how progressive both the University, and our country, is in terms of gender diversity in the workplace.
The keynote address, given by Brenda Trenowden, the Global Chair of the 30% Club, was followed by a panel discussion which was moderated by Dearbhail McDonald, Group Business Editor, Irish Independent. The panel consisted of:
Cathriona Hallahan – Managing Director of Microsoft
Anne Heraty – CEO and Co-Founder, CPL Resources
Ina De – Co-Head of UK Investment Bank, J.P. Morgan
Stephan Donnelly – Independent TD and former McKinsey & Co Consultant
This conference brought together business leaders, Trinity alumni and students to network and gain exposure to successful business people. It proved an excellent opportunity to gain an inside perspective from both male and female panelists on gender division within the workplace. The panel addressed a range of topics, including work-life balance, risk-taking in business, workplace policies in support of women, dealing with diversity, building confidence and leadership.
